post cataract surgery

My dh had this surgery about a month ago. He can see fine now but he always
felt like there was fluid is his eye after the surgery. The Doc said it
looked like his eyelid was pulling away from the eyeball and that is what
was causing this. The Doc gave him some kind of ointment to see if that
would help.

Anyone ever heard of this?

You didn't say what surgery. Cataract extraction doesn't typically interfere
with lid closure but frequently cosmetic lid procedures will cause ectropion
(eyelid pulling away) and exposure.

If the lid never closes, doctors often recommend bland ointments like
Lacrilube or Refresh PM for blanketing the exposed area.

I see now.. you did say cataract surgery in the title.

The ointment still makes sense, no matter what caused the exposure.
