Deceased Name: STEWART H. DOWELL -- Banker

Stewart H. Dowell, 62, a retired vice president of Perpetual Savings &
Loan in Washington, died June 16 at a hospital in Virginia Beach. He
had Lyme disease.

Mr. Dowell, a resident of West River, Md., was stricken while
vacationing.

He worked for Perpetual from 1961 to 1982. He was an associate broker
with Carriage Realty on Capitol Hill from 1968 to 1984. From 1981 to
1992, he was co-owner of the Bay View Inn in Shady Side, Md.

Mr. Dowell, who was born in Owings, Md., graduated from Southeastern
University. He was an Army veteran.

His hobbies included boating and gardening.

Survivors include a brother, Donald, of Ocala, Fla.
