adrafinil + technical work

I need to do a short programming stint of around 40 hours spread over 3
days. AFAIK adrafinil or modafinil is the stuff for me. Is Modafinil worth the extra cost? And how long do I need to take it before It kicks in? Cheers

Modafinil seems, from my (1hr) reasearch, to cause some problems with sleep -- My Question concerning adrafinil relates to liver damage; does anyone know of further sources of information concerning why some net sources [2] are saying that long term usage of 3-6 months may cause increased presence of liver enzymes such as alkaline phosphatase?? I think I would have a problem getting my NHS doctor to perform such tests after telling him I was self-medicating with this drug!
