She post pubmed articles. hundreds of them for which we all
appreciate.
What would you do if you had crohn's? stay on steroids or explore the
possibility of an infectious etiology?

SDORES 2005-08-13 17:50:06

Steroids are not the only med to help control, hopefully, crohn's disease.
I have been on pred for three weeks only once and that is because I went on
a cruise and refused to cancel for surgery. I am on Pentasa which so far is
doing fine for me. UM MOM Susan

You don't seem to read very well. My post, as above, says it IS worth
studying further. However, none of the articles have any definitive sort of
proof that crohn's is an infectious process. None. If it were an obvious
infectious problem, then the treatment would have been tailored to that...
or do you think you know better than the gastroenterologists who are
studying this disease day in and day out?

Please detail the logic behind this decision of yours.

Why don't all of you check out www.ccfa.org and see what new is in clinical
trials and what other things are being done to try to help those with IBD.
There really is a lot of scientific research going on, not enough in my
opinion but that's because I have it, but there is new things learned like
genetics, MAP (your antibiotic idea in use for some and it has worked for
some too!). There are new meds being developed, the use of alternates like
Probiotics and Prebiotics, worms (available in the UK, I believe) and a lot
more is available for you to read about on this site. UM MOM Susan
