Eric and jake (used to be bobwhalen or something similar) were here before
me.

I was here long before jake (bob whelan) showed up. I have been posting since
spring 1999. I originally came here as a desperate person looking for answers
that werent here. Although looking back on it, I wasnt doing halfway bad in
those days compared to now.

The NG started to go downhill in fall 2000 when that Andrew character showed
up. He pretty much ruined it, then that old Google took over usenet in early
2001 and after that a lot of oldtimers seemed to slow down or stop posting.
That ruined it even more IMO. Bob Whelan showed up in spring 2001.

Its somewhat recovered in the last six months or so.
