Wellbutrin XL and Anxiety

I just started wellbutrin xl a week ago and have periods of intense
anxiety. It is not constant but when it strikes i get that nervous
feeling in my stomach. It is kind of like butterflies. Does anyone
know if this is normal? The main question is - will it go away? The
last thing I need is a drug that causes me to be anxious.

these are the common side effects of Wellbutrin

Bupropion (Wellbutrin)
Agitation, dry mouth, trouble sleeping, headache, nausea, vomiting,
constipation, tremor

Go and see your doctor..

Wellbutrin can feel like too many cups of coffee, at least for a
while. I don't know if there is any way to predict whether that effect
(or the anxiety you report) wears off, except to wait and see. In my
case, two weeks usually suffices to make clear whether a side effect
is temporary or not.

Wellbutrin can be rather activating at first, but I have not really
experienced what you are describing. My anxiety levels are fairly low
not taking anything, however. If you have very high anxiety levels to
begin with, Wellbutrin is not necessarily a great med to be taking, at
least by itself.

I have now been taking Wellbutrin XL for almost 2 months. My dosage
has been increased to 450mg. The most common symptoms that I am
having is a lot of energy at first then a decline. I don't get tired
and cannot nap during the day no matter how much I may try.

Insomnia is a side affect for me as well but it could be the
depression as well. Anxiety is also a side affect as well.
