Visual acuity after lasik

Hi All,

I recently had lasik - had a fairly bad outcome. I can look at the the
eyecharts for 20/30 vision and everything is fuzzy. I mean fuzzy to the
point where I'm using shape recognition to help decipher the letters. I'm
seeing double images (serious ghosting/shadows) to the characters.

The optomologist seems to feel that if I can make out the characters at all
on a certain chart - then my vision is at that level. Does that sound like
industry norms to you? Should I be seeking a second opinion?
