Road victim, 12, had smoked cannabis

A 12-year-old boy who was killed crossing a busy road had been smoking cannabis
that had probably left him disorientated, an inquest heard yesterday.

Pearce Randle of Alvaston, Derbyshire, was playing tag with friends when he was
hit by a car as the group crossed a dual carriageway.

Andrew Hitchcock of the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary said the boy had probably
been under the effects of the class C drug.

Dr Hitchcock, who carried out the postmortem examination, said: "On the balance
of probability, this young man was under the acute effects of cannabis. It's
probable that he was suffering from one or two forms of impediment which would
have impaired his ability to react in an emergency situation, such as avoiding
contact with a moving vehicle."

Pearce and his friends had been returning from Elvaston Castle, where they had
been playing and smoking cannabis on May 7 this year, Derby coroner's court
heard.

They were bored and decided to continue the game on a housing estate near a
dual carriageway, deciding to cross the road instead of using a footbridge.

The car's driver said she had not seen Pearce until after the collision.

The coroner, Peter Ashworth, returned a verdict of accidental death.

There's a lot I could say about this...but I'm just gonna say one thing: Stoned
or not, you gotta be pretty dumb to play on a dual carriageway.

Riiight. And sober people never get hit by cars. I see plenty of
idiots jaywalking across divided highways all the time, does that mean
they're all high?

======

But, using the very same logic provided by the article, this means that
smoking cannabis can "probably" make children completely invisible to
automobile drivers!!!!!!

What an amazing plant!
No wonder it scares the shit outta the Feds of almost every nation on earth.
