You know the type...prima donna, couldnt care less what you are worried
about or your own personal concerns, like pus draining from right above
your right eye. He said if you cant eat "thats your problem", and,
"look, did i ask you that?" and if you dont do exactly as i say "I will
kck your ass out of my office so fast you wont even know what
happened." Then he takes a long, personal call, going on and on and on
about obviously nothing important for at least fifteen minutes. I told
him I had printed out all my symptoms, and he interrupted me saying "I
m not going to read that." I could go on and on, he refused to give me
meds i have been taking for years, telling me to get a primary care
doctor, that he doenst BELIEVE in those meds, but "a real nice young
lady doc" MIGHT be able to take you tomorrow so call her now. I called
and she doesnt work today or tomorrow. I said to him that he was
forcing me to go to Tijuana and spend money i didnt have on meds i
need, he said that was "just tough". He told me to take FOUR of those
diuretics that I am allergic to. Eaton, check it out, its
contraindicated for both allergies to sulfa drugs and liver disease,
and he wants me to take four of them a day. He was one of the nastiest
doctors i have ever come across, rude doesnt describe how he treated
me. No one treats peoplel like that. I am do down, and need certtain
meds to function properly. I guess I could try Urgent Care, but i have
just about given up on finding a civilized dcotor who will treat me
with a modicum of respect. In fact I give up now. Im just going to let
myself go and go down to TJ and get that lethal cocktail before i cant
do it at all. Pus in my eye and he doesnt do a thing, and btw, Eaton,
he was an Internist. But so far as i am concerned Prepiad Legal is like
Mother Teresa and these this doc treated me like shit and STOLE my
money and gives me meds that I am allergic to. Get off the back of PPL.
they are small fries when it comes to scamming people and treating
people like scum. Now if i said i wanted to go to medical school i
could see where you could diss me for hours to go into such a crappy
scumbag business because that is all it is and doctors harm more than
help. Psychologically i am devastated, and physically i am almost gone,
thanks to the fucking medical profession. I waste almost a months
worth of PPL for the co pay for this terrible experience, 20 bucks, now
i am going to urgent care so i can get something for the pus that is
draining into my right eye, so i dont completely lose my vision, and
that will be another 20 buck co pay, but this time i am going to be
smatt, i shall pay with a check and put a stop payment on the check
before its cashed. I have paid way too much for medical cae for nada.
PPL is looking better all the time, and anyone who thinks docs are
gods gift to the world must not be playing with a full deck or are just
plain lucky or have a relative who is a doc so they get preferential
treatment, for most of us its nothing but garbage. I have NEVER been
treated this way by ANYONE in my entire life. If he tried to get away
with this type of behavior with social equals he wouldnt have a friend
in the world, so he takes his rage out on vulnerable ill people. What a
complete sadistic monster.

Astounding. I could have gone to 10,000 physicians and not returned with such a story.
Yet it was completely predictable, before your visit, that you would.

Manny, I have serveral different serious diseases, I see doctors all of the time, and
I've never seen one like the one you describe, anywhere. Yet I could have predicted
that you'd come here and report such things as your experience with medicine. Why is
that?

I suspect that if I had been there, I would tell a very different tale of what actually
happened. Now he gave you *four* drugs that you're allergic to? It seems that you're
allergic to whatever the doctor gives you. Do you know what "allergic" means?

In any case, your complaints about medicine don't change anything about PPL. You must
know at least that much.

I've probably seen hundreds of Drs over the years, even the ones I was
trying to scam for meds never treated me as apparently, EVERY Dr you see,
treats you. What does that tell you? That story you just told is an
impossibility, as you tell it. Couldn't have happened that way. Manny, have
you ever been diagnosed as a schizophrenic, or some kind of other psych
problem, because it's obvious you've got problems, psychologically. One
minute you're jabbering about a job, the next minute you're back at the Dr,
who ("always") treats you like dirt.

MANNY 2006-11-08 03:21:23

Eaton,

This is what happened later last night. I took the two RXs for
Diuretics to the local RiteAid pharmacy and before I had the RXs
filled, I asked to speak with the pharmacist, a man who looked to be in
his early 40s and a caucastion American. I asked this pharmacist if it
was true that if one if allergic to sulfa drugs, including sulfa that
is in some antibiotics are these diuretics contraindicated to take. He
asked me what my reaction was to sulfa drugs and I told him that I had
dificulty beathing and got a rash from sulfa drugs. The pharmacist took
a look at the two scripts and told me I should not take the two
medications that had been prescribed, in fact, he said he would not
fill them for me. He told me that diuretics in general have sulfa in
them and that people who are allergic to sulfa are not good candidates
for diuretics, I asked him what I could do to reduce the swelling in my
feet, ankles, legs, knees, hands, stomach and fingers, and the
pharmacist told me that the only natural diruetic that he knew of that
was over the counter was caffeine. I told him I drank a lot of cofffee
and it never seemed to produce a diuretic effect on me. I asked him
about a few othe things to, things I would have liked to ask the doctor
who was paid to give me medical attention but told me that he was not
interested in my questions. The doctor, btw, did not have any other
patients waiting while i was seeing him so he wasnt busy with a room
full of patients, not even one. Well, anyway, I asked the pharmacist if
my stomach which is now about to explode it is so large and is full of
fluids, if a paracentesis procedure would be more likely indicated
since I could not take the diuretics, and the pharmacist told me that
that procedure would make me a lot more comfortable, but that the
ascities would return within a couple weeks to a month, and i would
have to continue having the procedure done. He told me that it would
not improve the prognosis of the cirrohsis but that I would be much
more comfortable and be able to eat, and thus be able to get some
nutrients in my body. I then told the pharmacist that I had been
researching the diuretics on the internet, and that one thing that
according to several articles i read said that when one takes
diuretics, one must be very, very cautious about how much potassium
that you have in your diet. That diuretics by the way they work can
easily leave you with much to much potassium in your blood, which and
i dont remember the name for it, but two things happen, you can
asymptomatically DIE due to your heart stopping due to an overload of
potassium which is apparently very dangerious for the system, and then
i looked at what had a lot of potassium and just about everything you
(or I , eat or drink) is loanded with potassium. The fact is, when you
are to be taking the amount of diuretics i was scripted for one i was
supposed to take four times a day and another i was to take once in the
morning, and according to the aritcles i read on the internet, and i
read several diferent ones, one is supposed to be closely monitored
for too much potassium in the blood so they dont become very ill or
die. Another thing is that if there is any possibility of renal
failure, that is another reason that you should be very careful with
diuretics as it can cause death from something called something like
portal hypertension. Now the doctor i saw did not tell me anything
about potassium overload, he didnt tell me anything about renal
failure, all he told me was that I should drin a MAXIMUM of ANYYTHING
non alcoholic I wanted to drnk and no more than A QUART and a half of
liguid, he told me to keep my favorite berverage and he said he didnt
cara what it was as long as it wasnt booze, and when that quart and a
half was finished i could not drink anymore liquid. He didnt tell me
anything about monitoring me, he said to come back in a month and
nothing about giving him a call should i have any concerns, most likely
since he didnt care about my concerns. He said we will do it my way or
get out of my office. I told him I hadnt eaten in days and he said it
didnt matter to him whether i ate or not. He basically said i had a
very advanced stage of cirrohsis and i thought to myself later if he
treats all his terminal patients so unconceivealy rude. He didnt care
that i had a pus pocket draining from the lid of my eye into my eye, he
didnt care that I had vertigo he didnt care that i had no sense of
balance, he didnt care that the bottom of my right foot has some growth
on it that makes it evem more difficult to walk. He didnt ask me any
questopm about my symptoms and when i brouht it up he told me to shut
up that he had no indterest in hearing anything i had to say and as i
said he did not want the list of symptoms that i had typed up and
wanted to share with him so he knew what i was sufering from. When i
told him that I was allergic to sulfa drugs and that the medicine i had
been given at the emergnecy room was contraindicated, he got angry and
when i told him the phaarmacist the night that I got that one filled
when he learned i was allergiv to sulfa told me not to take the meds.
This also made the doctor very angry, and he said, you will take this
medication and not just one pill a day but four pills a day and then
another diuretic once in the morning, the doctor said that that
pharmacist didnt know what he was talking about that sula drug
allergies were not contraindicated for diuretics. So then this second
pharmacist last night said the same thing as the foreign pharmacist who
didnt speak very good enlglish and sadi that if you are allergic to
sufla drugs, and i have been allergiv to sulfa drugs all my life that
he would refuse to ill the RXs as they would cause me harm, so that is
two pharmacists, and aslo what i read online that confimred what the
pharmacists both said. So i believe the doctor was incorrect, and that
had i taken the diuretics and didnt have a sulfa allergy it still would
not be safe as one is soupposed to be closely monitored when one has
cirrohsis of the liver and can die of heart failure or renal failure
due to an over load of potassium which he never mentioned, he didnt
tell me not to eat bananas , drink a quaart and a half of oragne juice
both very high in potassium, he never mentioned potassium, just said "
he did not believe in valium so he would not prescribe it but that a
nice young doctor might write me for it the next day. I was going to
drive down to Mexico but the secretary at the doctors office failed to
return my drivers license so i could not leave the country. I instead
went to urgent care, and the doctor saw the infection on my eye lid and
gave me some non sulfa antibiotics and exactly two valium. She said i
had come to urgent care three weeks ago and had been given some
emergnecy valium unil i saw my interniest. I told her i just got
through with my interneist and he didnt prescribe valium and it would
take me weeks to get another doc appt, they tried to get me an appt
with a doc for today all over san diego county and there were
absolutely no appt times free for several days, still the young doctor
refused to give me more than two valium and i have been taking them
every day for a decade, not over indulging just ten mg a day, so if i
have to stop cold turkey it will be very dangerious for me especially
with all the other medical problems i have going on.

I am surprised Easton that what i have described you believe to be a
lie. It is not a lie Everything happened exactly as i have written it
happened. I shall go back to that doctors office and pick up my drivers
license, then i shall go to Mexico around noon then i will find the
best clinic i can and make an appointment for a paracentesis. I read it
is very dangerous to live with ascities, that bacteria can form in the
abdomin and you can get very very ill. I have only one question since i
now know i am terminal and i have heard that throwing up blood from a
burst esopphicus is very bad as is renal failure very painful, can you
tell me, Eaton will three Oxyconin 80 mgs pills allow me to pass away
without any pain or any complications, I have no tolerence to opiates
whatsoever. Should i take them on a full or empty stomach. I just want
to be prepared and take the correct thing before i find myself in
uncontrollable agony. I want to depart from home and not a hospital. I
dont want to even try to find another american doctor, first of all
becaue they are booked up for weeks, and second i have been treated
miserably by three in a row. I have had friends and relatives who have
reported similar treatment to whaat i was subjected to in the past two
weeks by medical doctors. You can choose what you wish to believe and i
am sure you dont believe a word i say. But let me tell you this, time
is most valuable to me and if i didnt feel it was importanta to set the
record straight i wouldnt have wasted my time and written tthis post.

Mike,

I had high hopes for this doctor. I was really looking forward to
seeing a kindly concerned dcotor who could help me. That is the
attitude i went into his office with. I had no intention of scamming
this doctor, I would be the happiest person in the world if i could get
rid of my edema, but i cannot take those diuretics. I was not trying to
get pain pills, as i dont care for them. I take valium for free
floataing anxiety and have taken it for over a decade on a daily basis.
I can easily get it in TJ, but I dont have a lot of money right now,
and my medical co pay for a months worth of valium is only five
dollars, where as going to Mexico i have to buy a script for thrity
dollars then pay 70 dollars for the valium, and then there is nine
dollars for parking, and ten dollars for taxi cabs, and a long wait to
cross back across the border and i am feeling very unwell, and i am
supposed to be working tomorrow. I need to work to live, and no its not
PPL, its a regular job. I dont absue valium i take five mgs twice a day
no more no less. Since the doctor informed me that one of his
collegaues might right me a script for valium today then it seems odd
that he wouldnt write me for it. Then i couldnt go to Mexico because
the doctors secretary failed to give me back my drivers license, so i
called the doc and he was gone but he had an urgent number to call so i
called him and told him that my drivers license was in his office and i
needed to have it to go to Mexico to get the valium he woudlnt
prescribe and he said he wasnt about to go all the way back to his
office to give me my drivers license and hung up on me. Now i dont know
if you are aware or not but stopping valium cold turkey is dangerous,
and this doc knew i was completely out. It never occured to me that he
woudnt prescribe valium as no other doc has ever failed to prescibe me
valium. Maybe he is an idiot and doesnt knnow just how dangerous it is
to just stop valium that you can have covulsions. Thank god i got two
valiums from urgent care. I am not like you Mike, just because you have
been scamming doctors all your adult life doesnt mean that I or anyone
else is out to scam. I was expecting good medical treatment and I got a
ghoul or a doctor. Scamming valium, that is funny. I can buy as many as
i want in mexico, I am not feeling like taking a trip down there
tomrrow, i should be at work, and it will just be added stress and its
difficout to walk but i NEVER need to SCAM any drug out of any doctor.
I dont go to doctors for the same reasons that you do, everyone isnt
like you, Mike.
