Cephalon shares soar on FDA letterINQUIRER STAFF
Shares in Cephalon Inc. rose today following news that the Food and Drug Administation had given the company's fast-acting opioid pain treatment Fentora an "approvable" letter. Cephalon shares were up 12 percent, or $6.36 to $60.62 in noontime trading on the Nasdaq National Market. The FDA letter was not a final approval. Cephalon said Thursday it plans to respond by the end of July and expects to hear from the agency 60 days after that. The sugar-free fentanyl buccal tablet dissolves in a patient's mouth to treat moderate to severe cancer pain. Cephalon said no additional safety or effectiveness tests were required and that product labeling had been "essentially finalized." http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/special_packages/latest/14940105.htm It sounds pretty interesting. Kind of like Actiq without the stick. I like the fact that they describe it as "Fast Acting". Can't wait until these arrive in a neighborhood near me!!
