recently my flight was delayed several hours at one airport and then I
missed the flight from another airport, all in all probably 20 hours.
And of course short of gbl. Lucky that I had some meds with me, thats
xanax and inderal (slows down heartbeat). After 2 hours not taking gbl
my heartrate went to around 90 and I got more and more nervous.
Another hour more it was at 150 and thats really very unconfortable.
Then I started to take 1 mg xanax and 40 mg inderal. After 20 min I
still felt bad and nothing has changed regarding heartrate. I took
another 1,5 mg xanax and 60 mg inderal. After 20 minutes things came a
bit better. I still felt really bad, just ok, didnt need to worry that
my heart would suddendly smash down.

The situation is very scary and I wonder what would happen to all you
addicted guys if there is an emergency. If you make a car accident or
smash ur leg or anything else and you would not be able to get your
gbl. Why does the heartrate go up so much in a short time? If someone
would be in a hospital what doctors would do?

Cheers

Hi,

It has been debated again and again here. You can check
Trinka web site at http://www.projectghb.org/ to get info
about detox. I know her web site has a bias but I think
(not sure) that you can get information about addiction
there.

Usually, benzos can help you but it seems that you are
already using it so it won't help a lot. From what I
understand, the first thing you must do is to take lots
of vitamins and sleep. Most of your problems come from
a lack of sleep. What you must do is to write down the
time every time you take gbl so you have a trace of
every dose. You will have to lower your intake. First
of all by sleeping longer. To do this there are some
meds that can help you. Remeron is anti anxiety med that
will help you to sleep. You can also take Seroquel
before going to bed, that works great. Ambien (zolpidem)
(or even better if you live outside the USA, zopiclone)
will help you sleep. Another one is diphenhydramine
(Benadril or Sleep-eze) that will help you sleep. Real
Kava Kava is good too.

Phenibut (gabatropin from bulk nutrition) will help you
too to sleep better. It has mostly the same effects of
GBL but less recreational and last longer (don't take
it too long cause it's addictive too).

Benzos will help you too. Something to help for blood
pressure may be important cause your blood pressure may
be through the roof.

Several years ago I stopped cold turkey and had to go
to the hospital. I've hallucinated for more than 10
days and they had to tie me to the bed. I stayed
there for 3 weeks. I still had to take medications for
more than a year for anxiety and sleeping and I was
still in not going well. I had 230/135 even after
several months of stopping. They had to give me
potassium through IV cause it was too low.

If you plan to stop on your own, you will have to tell
people around you cause you will be like a zombie for
several days from the medications and the WDs.

Most people won't experiment all these problems but
from what you wrote, it doesn't look good.

Please tell us what happens to you.

Trinka's site is full of worthless garbage as far as detox. She is an
ex-cop, not a doctor. Her medical advice is ridiculous, and if you
follow it, you're likely to just go from being a GHB addict to a benzo
addict. Most of the effects of GHB withdrawal are simple anxiety. You
arent going to die, though of course you may freak out and think you
are. The only drugs where withdrawals can kill are barbiturates - and
even then, only if your brain is wired to be seizure prone. If you're
so addicted to GHB or any other drug that the idea of 20 hours without
is too much to handle, and youre carrying around anti-anxiety meds for
that... you need to stop. Get help if you cant do it on your own. If
you want to use benzos to help, do it with a doctor's help so you dont
get yourself hooked. Dont order the stuff off some internet pharmacy,
or you'll be popping Valiums and Xanax non-stop.

Cut back on the GHB... give your supply to someone you trust and have
them give you decreasing doses. But realize at some point, you have to
just stop. And realize that you will not fall over dead from stopping,
in spite of what that quack Trinka says.

Whatever you do, sounds like youve got a drug problem - not just with
GHB, if youre carrying around Xanax and Inderal. Get help.
