DXM turns into DXO??

i read somewhere that after a while the dxm turns into dxo. i remember
reading that its a slightly different trip. i was wondering if anyone
could tell me how long it takes for dxm to turn into dxo

Are you talking about DXM powder degrading into DXO (I'm not aware
that that happens), or about the liver's metabolism of DXM into DXO,
in the body? The latter is part of a normal DXM trip - much of the
DXM is converted by the CYP2D6 enzyme into DXO, during first-pass
metabolism. It occurs prior to the beginning of the trip.

The effects are more than slightly different, too. They affect the
same receptors, but with very different affinities. DXO has *far*
more of the NMDA-antagonist (anesthetic) effect. DXM has far more
effect on serotonin and the sigma-opioid receptor.
